Assessing and improving existing research software
This FAIR Implementation Story outlines the specific aims and actions of the University of Glasgow in relation to their participation in one or both support actions.
Implementation Story
ImplementationStoryCover_Improving FAIRness of ShExML and DMAOG and metadata creation workflow
Assessing and improving existing research software
This FAIR Implementation Story addresses the implementation of the RSMD guidelines to two research software repositories: the Shape Expressions Mapping Language (ShExML) engine and the Data Mapping Access Objects Generator (DMAOG).
Implementation Story
ImplementationStoryCover_Alignment of the VIVO ontology and platform with CodeMeta
Assessing and improving existing research software
By promoting the cataloguing of software and supporting FAIR standards, VIVO plays an essential role in enhancing the visibility, impact, and reusability of research software, ultimately contributing to the advancement of science and innovation.

Implementation Story
ImplementationStoryCover_Developing tools to support the creation of CodeMeta files
Assessing and improving existing research software
To encourage its adoption and increase the number of research software repositories documented with a codemeta.json file, we decided to use our technical skills and knowledge of the metadata and Software Heritage ecosystem to make the CodeMeta format more accessible.

Assessing and improving existing research software
Bioinformatics and Systems Biology lab is a young group established in 2024 at Brno University of Technology. As one of the few truly interdisciplinary labs combining computer science expertise with its own experimental laboratories worldwide, we aim to develop research software for microbiologists, biotechnologists, and molecular biologists. We joined the ‘Assessing the FAIRness of Software’ support action to understand better how to assess and improve the FAIRness of our research software.
Implementation Story
ImplementationStoryCover_Towards greater visibility and re-use of software developed within the SeaDataNet infrastructure: the example of OCTOPUS Software
Assessing and improving existing research software
This project consisted of first evaluating the FAIR level of the existing OCTOPUS software and then improving its FAIRness by following the main recommendations of the FAIR-IMPACT project.
