Global Perspectives on Interoperability: Key Insights from the FAIR-IMPACT Workshop at RDA Plenary 23

The FAIR-IMPACT Co-located Workshop at RDA Plenary 23 in Costa Rica gathered experts to explore global approaches to interoperability frameworks in research commons. The workshop, organised by RDA Europe and CNRS in collaboration with the DANS-led, Horizon Europe-funded FAIR-IMPACT project, emphasised the challenges and opportunities in aligning diverse research infrastructures with the European Open Science Cloud (EOSC).

Key insights included the complexity of navigating numerous interoperability frameworks, the need for practical guidance, and the importance of building knowledge bases and training programs. Participants also identified key challenges such as framework overload, sustainability, and the integration of technical, organizational, and legal factors.
