EOSC Symposium 2024 will take place under the patronage of the German Minister for Education and Research Bettina Stark-Watzinger. The event is being organised by the EOSC Association, the EOSC-A German Mandated Organisation, NFDI, the Leibniz Information Centre for Economics (ZBW), an EOSC-A Member, and with the support of the Horizon Europe project EOSC Focus.
In order to capitalise on the synergies between the EOSC and NFDI communities, NFDI will hold a meeting with representatives of its community and other relevant stakeholders back-to-back to the EOSC Symposium to facilitate collaboration between the target groups. The EOSC Symposium 2024 will be hosted in Berlin at the H4 Hotel Alexanderplatz.
The EOSC Symposium 2024 is steadily approaching, and the work to prepare an interesting, engaging and thought-provoking event programme for you has started!
To ensure that the Symposium programme reflects the voices of the EOSC community, we’d like to invite you to join us in planning the programme through a Call for Unconference Sessions. This gives you an exciting opportunity to draw attention to topics that you believe are important to EOSC.
FAIR-IMPACT at the event
Along with OpenWebSearch.eu and FAIRCORE4EOSC, FAIR-IMPACT is organising an unconference on on 22nd October 17:00-18:00 CEST, entitled "
This session explores novel ways for current and future collaboration in findability (F) in FAIR, and how it contributes to the future goals on FAIR data and principles in the context of EOSC. The session addresses the importance of transparency in development of search applications and tools, and discusses how widening collaboration may benefit the whole research community. The session investigates synergies within science-search-focused contexts through examples from OpenWebSearch.eu, FAIRCORE4EOSC and FAIR-IMPACT. It discusses how improved findability impacts science, industry and society as a whole. It contributes to the objectives outlined in the EOSC Strategic Research and Innovation Agenda and to Europe’s sovereignty for accessing and using the web. We will engage the audience into discussions through an audience interaction platform, and approach the topic of findability with emphasis on collaboration. This session will be a great opportunity to find synergies and boost ideas by injecting the user perspective. Watch the promotional video below.
