Synchronisation Force Workshop 2022: datasets and slides now available

Between the 21st and 24th of November 2022 more than 120 representatives of projects and initiatives funded and/or supported by the European Commission H2020 and Horizon Europe programmes and operating in the EOSC framework joined the FAIR-IMPACT Synchronisation Force collaborative sessions to assess the implementation of the FAIR principles across research projects and initiatives in the EOSC framework. The team focused on work related to FAIR-IMPACT focus areas, namely Metrics and assessing FAIRness (session 1), Persistent Identifiers (Session 2), Trustworthy and FAIR-enabling repositories (Session 3) and Metadata, semantics and interoperability (Session 4).

In order to ensure an interactive meeting, participants were asked  to complete a preliminary survey according to the sessions that they would join and complete 4 questions. The inputs received constituted the starting point for the discussions during the Synchronisation Force Workshop and are collected here as pdf files.

Each session was chaired by different members of the FAIR-IMPACT project. Session 1 on Metrics and assessing FAIRness was chaired by Mike Priddy and Maaike Verburg, DANS. Session 2 on PIDs was chaired by Jessica Parland-von Essen and Liisa Marjamaa-Mankinen, CSC. Session 3 on Trustworthy and FAIR-enabling repositories was chaired by Maaike Verburg, DANS and Ryan O’Connor, DCC. Session 4 on Metadata, semantics and interoperability was chaired by Clément Jonquet, INRAE and Oscar Corcho, UPM.

Ingrid Dillo, Vasso Kalaitzi, Sara Pittonet Gaiarin, Marjan Grootveld and Joy Davidson chaired the Opening and Concluding sessions.

The proceedings of the event are now available online. From the event page you can download the slides presented during the sessions and the data gathered via the preliminary survey run before the event, which constituted the starting point for the discussions during the Synchronisation Force Workshop. All the materials have  been uploaded on Zenodo.
