Promoting FAIR principles in biomedical and healthcare research centers: experience of participation in the European FAIR-IMPACT support program and its implementation through a training action plan
FAIR-IMPACT’s RPO support programme aimed to support research performing organisations to better understand their drivers for becoming more FAIR-enabling, to self-assess their current FAIR-enabling capacity and develop plans for improvement. During the support programme participants were asked to undertake at least one engagement activity to facilitate awareness raising and/or to enable cooperation and collaboration with peers across the organisation. The support programme ran between February and October 2024 with a series of ten virtual workshops where participants were introduced to key concepts to support their journey toward becoming more FAIR-enabling followed by peer exchange workshops and one-to-one meetings with FAIR-IMPACT mentors. This FAIR Implementation Story outlines the specific aims and actions of FISABIO in relation to their participation in the RPO support programme.
"A key area of focus for FISABIO is its Training and Guidance section, which aims to improve the understanding and application of Open Science principles. By offering tailored training sessions, workshops, and resources, FISABIO seeks to enhance the knowledge and skills of its researchers, particularly in research data management. These efforts contribute to more transparent, collaborative, and accessible research processes across various fields".
