MD-NOSCI Inaugural Event

On March 30, 2023, the Establishment Event of the National Cloud Initiative for Open Science from the Republic of Moldova (MD-NOSCI) will take place. The event is organized by the State University of Moldova, the National Agency for Research and Development and the RENAM Association, with the support of the Ministry of Education and Research of the Republic of Moldova and the Academy of Sciences of Moldova.

The main purpose of the event is the establishment of the National Open Science Cloud in the context of the development of the European Open Science Cloud (EOSC) ecosystem. National Open Science Cloud Initiatives are a main way adopted by several countries in Europe to enable participation in EOSC at the national level – promoting, expanding and using the resources of this ecosystem. MD-NOSCI is designed as a coalition of organizations at the national level, with the aim of: optimizing and coordinating activities regarding the integration of national infrastructures and services in EOSC; facilitating academic and research access to EOSC resources; promotion and implementation of Open Science policies at the national level.

This event will take place in the premises of the State University of Moldova (Str. Alexei Mateevici, 60), central block, et. 2, Senate Hall, 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. The organizational support of the event is provided by the NI4OS-Europe project (National Initiatives for Open Science in Europe). The NI4OS-Europe project integrates 22 partners from 15 countries, supporting the development of national Cloud for Open Science initiatives in the participating countries, promoting the FAIR principles of retrievability, accessibility, interoperability and reusability of data and providing technical assistance and support for connecting service providers to EOSC, including generic services (computing, data storage, data management), theme services, repositories and datasets
