63rd Jour Fixe for the German state initiative for research data management fdm.nrw

The DH.NRW state initiative fdm.nrw acts as a central coordination and contact point to bundle and strategically develop university and state activities in the field of FDM. In the medium to long term, NRW-wide recommendations and solutions for FDM processes should be established and also successfully introduced and placed in an overall national strategy. The aim is also to prepare for the participation of the state of North Rhine-Westphalia in fdm.nrw.

Events (workshops, Jour Fixe FDM) promote networking and recognition of FDM in scientific communities and infrastructure facilities. In addition, the state initiative provides basic services for universities in North Rhine-Westphalia (e.g. a model guideline for research data management), conducts trend scouting and identifies developments in the context of RDM at national, European and international levels. The state initiative is funded by the Ministry of Culture and Science of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia and the DH.NRW and is located at the university library of the University of Duisburg-Essen.

The state initiative NFDI will be further supported from September 2019 as part of the state-wide digitization offensive called fdm.nrw.
